I have been playing volleyball since I was 11 years old! It's always been a sport that has interested me greatly and I'm in love with everything about it. This sport has brought me some of my closest friendships, amazing memories, and experiences that will stay with me forever. Nothing beats the feeling of walking into a crowded arena filled with people cheering you on as you walk up to the playing court. The rush of adrenaline as the referee blows his whistle, signaling you to commence the game. That moment after the whistle has been blown, the entire stadium goes quiet. The only sound heard is the sound of sweat dripping from my forehead as I prepare to hit that first serve. I raise the ball in the air as the crowd gasps for air. I spike it perfectly with the center of my palm, feeling the entire volleyball in my hand for just a fraction of a second before launching it across the court. At that moment, it's as if time began again. The crowd goes wild as the ball reaches the other side of the court, indicating the start of the game. I haven't been able to play in the longest time because of the pandemic but every day I think about how timeless this sport makes me feel. Nothing will ever beat that feeling.
